You may have seen in the latest issue of Hyndland Heart that a Christmas tree has now been erected by the side of Tabak, Hyndland Road, directly opposite St Bride’s Church and that there is carol singing planned to mark the event.
Here are the updated details:
Sunday, 20th December 2009 @ 5pm
To meet by the Christmas tree just a little before 5pm (note the change of time). Free mince pies and refreshments will be provided by Pizza Magic and the carol singing will be led by the choristers of St Bride’s, although printed carol sheets will be provided so that you can join in most heartily! Please dress warmly and appropriately for the weather and we look forward to welcoming you all to this inaugural event.
Please pass this on to any neighbours and friends who might be interested in joining us. The event was a great success, it even snowed on cue. To see some photos of the event, click the Read more button or look in the gallery

Peter Burdon and his wife Lindsey have lived in Hyndland for the last 3 years and during that time Paul completed his first book, Come Away with Me, published on 23rd October 2009. It tells the story of the journey (their honeymoon) which brought them here. They had been living in London, were married in Dunkeld, left Edinburgh a few days later and headed east through Russia, Asia and South America, eventually arriving in Glasgow 14 months later.
Extracts from chapters 1 & 2 can be read here on the HRA website: Look out for our interview in the next issue of Hyndland Heart.
